Police Robot

Police Robot

While exploring the lower deck, you have paused for a moment beside a large cargo door. Entry is barred by a violet keycard panel. Further exploration is interrupted, however, as the party discovers the source of the mysterious humming noise approaching from the east…

You have been caught by a machine unlike any creature of living metal that you have seen before. Floating several feet above the ground on humming repulsorlifts, it is cylindrical in shape and constructed from Ancient alloys. It possesses two human-sized arms, with two longer metal ‘tentacles’ beneath. Several protrusions on the robot suggest weapons, though it makes no attacks yet.

The party is still on the lower deck, trying to find the large door which you saw from outside the installation. Walking down a long corridor, you have reached a large cargo door – much larger than the other doors you have found before – set into the southern wall. Olive figures you’re still about seventy feet north of the outer doors, however. Set beside the door is a violet keycard panel.

Suddenly, Yobo’s keen hearing detects an eerie humming sound from the east. You can’t see anything; whatever is making the noise is still out of sight. Within moments, the rest of you can also hear the noise – it seems to be getting louder…

You are at a dark crossroads on the lower deck where the path branches in several directions. Corridors stretch straight north and west, and there is a stairwell up further to the southwest.

Your torchlight reveals several sets of doorways in the northern corridor; at the edge of your light, it appears that there are open doorways on either side (east and west). Yobo’s nightvision confirms the far doors are open, and he also sees that the closest doorway has a brown keycard slot.

To the west, there is only a single doorway evident (about twenty feet down the west hall). Yobo’s keen eyesight can pick out that it is open.

The halls are eerily silent and have a deserted, haunted feel to them. The whole deck is rather spooky…

You are near the eastern drop chute on the botanical garden level. Using flasks of oil and fire, you have burned a clear path through the strangle vines and the party is back together. The flight of cowardly Xanax and loss of Pris has thinned your ranks, but your expedition is still eleven souls strong (seven PCs and four retainers).

Apollo and Ibben are scouting the side passage and stairwell down, and your party contemplates its next course of action…

You are near the eastern drop chute on the botanical garden level. The entry chamber here is a forty foot square room, with the garden to the west and passageways to the north and south. Strangle vines from the garden have reached into the room, and the PCs retreated to the southern hall while Olive went to gather the retainers.

Upon Olive’s return, the vines had crept far enough into the room to cut off the path between the drop chute and southern hall. Unfortunately, it seems that the retainers were attacked by six-legged catlike beasts with tentacles while you were separated. Pris was destroyed, and Xanax fled in fear. Only Reesus, Rogaine, and Andre remain.

Strangle Vine

Strangle Vines

Wisely deciding not to poke around the refuse pile at the bottom of the drop chute, the party has returned to the botanical garden level. You stand beside the drop chute in the middle of a forty foot square room, constructed from the same metal as the rest of this installation. Although there are no lights in the room, ‘sunlight’ filters in from the botanical garden (to the west) through a large archway. Corridors (twenty feet wide) extend north and south, each heading to a set of stairs leading downwards into darkness. The floor to the north appears to have suffered damage, though it should be easily passable.

You note with some concern that a number of alarmingly mobile vines are creeping towards you from the garden!
